Every living space at our Sringeri Home has been well-designed to deliver maximum comfort and care to the elderly.

Inaugurated on 20th May 2001

by His Holiness Bharathi Thirtha Swamiji, the senior 36th Shankaracharya of Sringeri.

Area Spread over 3.5 acres

Out of the 3.5 acres campus, about half area is devoted to afforestation with useful trees other areas are spread with plantain trees.

Location

The Home is on the banks of River Tunga on the Sringeri-Shimoga National Highway 13, 2.5 kms from the famous Sharada Temple complex of Sringeri.

Accommodation

16 single rooms and 28 double rooms with a total accommodation of 71 elders.

Weather

The temperature does not go beyond 27 °c during peak summer and during winter it does not go below 13 °c. Sringeri gets abundant rains starting June every year.

Dharmastala, Mookambika, Katil Subramania, Rajrajeshwari(Annapoorni) temple at Horanadu and many others.

24*7 water supply with solar heaters
The water is available throughout the year and is copiously used for washing and other utilities. There is also a bore well dug specifically for drinking water (tested for its purity) connected to the kitchen. The Home provides a sufficient quantity of boiled and cooled water to residents. Hot water from the solar heaters and large boilers are available throughout the year.
Healthy food
We have a modern utilitarian kitchen that is set up to deliver healthy food. Every day, the residents are provided tea/coffee refreshments early morning, breakfast at 8.00 am, with coffee or tea, wholesome lunch in the noon, and tea/coffee with biscuits for snacks, followed by dinner at 8.00 pm. Our food preparation is in line with the age factor of the residents and their dietary restrictions.

  • Double Rooms with attached Verandah – size – 225 sq.ft.
  • Attached bathroom and European WC
  • T.V. set & cot with Kurlon bed with warm blanket bedsheets etc.
  • Table and a chair with either a Godrej almirah or a built in cupboard with fans
  • Adequate storage facilities and washing facilities
Library

Our library hall is spread over an area of 2500 sq. ft. with a world-class collection of books on religious and spiritual values, besides exhaustive reference material on subjects like economic development for those with a research bent of mind. The place is useful for conducting religious functions and celebrating festivals.

Periodic health checkups

We organize regular health check-ups for the residents. Qualified doctors visit the Home every fortnight and examine every resident.

Guest house

To help our residents with the visitors from their families, we have a guest house with 3 self-contained rooms with an attached bath and a common hall. They can enjoy the serene & peaceful environment while enjoying the hot and wholesome food served at Home.
